Yes, so many of them moan that they can't 'serve Jehovah' the way they used to. Different to a lot of non Jw oldies who while acknowledging they can't be as active as they used to, are happy to look back and tell you about their younger lives and be content with a life lived.

The truth just ain't the same any more.
by Julia Orwell inthis has been the sentiment of a few i know who have been full jws for decades.
they say the love is not there like it used to be, and it's become less personal.. anyone heard similar comments from oldies?.
we know the 'truth' ain't the truth in the first place, but i have a feeling there may be a lot of older ones hanging on just because it's all they've ever known, and it the alternative, that there is no paradise around the corner like they've always been taught us unthinkable..

by Crisis of Conscience inthough i no longer believe the fds is indeed appointed by god, i guess because of what has been taught to me all these years through the wtbts, i still make an effort to try and look at both sides.
and then i come across this number below, which is how i arrived at my title for this thread.

They reckon that once you determine the fds is valid, there is no reason to ever study more or change your mind. Seriously, who in real life ever commits to something long term without reviewing the decision inthe light of changed circumstances or information you didn't have before? Do you stay in an investment without reviewing its results and performance regularly and if you receive damning info about it which was hidden to you when you joined, would you not study more and be able to decide to leave? Or is what you learned in primary school to never be progressed from? Once you believe that 2+2=4, can you never move on to algebra?
Bunch of twats. I also used to cringe at those money announcements at assemblies even when I was a full on Jw. Used to choof out to the loos so I didn't have to listen.

seriously, due to past articles & teachings - especially july 15th 2013 - the rumblings of people awakening are clearly being heard.. hence christ's repeated warnings about "staying awake" and "keeping on the watch" as well as 'testing inspired expressions' to see where they really originate!.

I never discovered grace either till I bought and started to read the King James bible. It wasn't until then, after 14 years a Jw, did I actually 'get' Christianity, and understand Jesus' message. Undeserved kindness really does remind you what a slug you are and that Jehovah only tolerates you, but grace is love in,action.

The new light re 1919 appointment of FDS demolishes the 'one true religion' concept
by yadda yadda 2 inanother poster on here called separation of powers made a profound comment on another thread recently that i thought was worthy of starting a new thread about:.
"in my opinion, the new light regarding the fds addresses this question, if there was no fds from the 3rd century on until 1918, and yet the article states that there were anointed followers here and there during that almost 2000 years of no fds, then what organization did they follow?
there was no organization, yet they were anointed per the article.

Hi guys some help please.
by AMO inwas having a drink and chat with a witness freind of mine the other evening (he is an ms) and i got him on the subject of the candic conta case.he had not herd of the case i gave him the court wed site address and case number so he could look directy with out googling as i thought this would encorage him to at least have a go.
then i bought up the changes in the sheepherding the flock book prob due to the court case and i said to him thay where good changes but did not go far enough.
then he asked what book it was, i explained to him the book, then he said he would ask an elder freind of his to have a look for him self.
